Warm New Year 2026 greetings!
Tourism, the Rohingya issue, and its border location make Cox’s Bazar one of the most important districts in Bangladesh. Alongside the tourism industry, there is enormous potential for employment. Many people from this district live abroad for their livelihoods and strengthen the national economy by earning foreign currency.
Through years of working in Cox’s Bazar, we have observed that the youth, marginalized groups, and a large number of women lack sufficient opportunities for skills development. From this reality, the JP Technical Training Center (JPTTC), the only women-led institution in Cox’s Bazar, was established with the vision of creating skilled human resources. Our goal is to bring skills development opportunities to people’s doorsteps and transform them into capable, confident, and productive members of society.
At present, our institution offers 28 government-approved training trades. Notable among them are Computer Operation, Beautification, Tailoring & Dressmaking, Electrical Installation, IT & Digital Skills, Handicrafts, and more. JPTTC provides both free and paid hands-on training courses, enabling trainees to become self-reliant, dignified, and respected in their communities.
So far, we have trained nearly 2,500 participants across different trades through free and paid courses. The encouraging participation of women has been a source of inspiration for us to move forward.
We are grateful to our development partners: ILO–ISEC, SICIP–REHAB, BRAC, UNDP, a2i, BWCCI, CBCCI, ASSET–RPL, and ASSET–EBT, for standing beside us in this journey. Their support has created valuable opportunities for local communities to participate in diverse training programs.
To make this noble journey more sustainable and of higher quality, we appeal to the government, partner organizations, and policymakers to extend special support to women-led institutions like ours. This will help ensure economic empowerment across all sectors and foster a generation built on skills.
At the same time, to make our journey smoother in creating skilled human resources, we call for new action plans that include institutional infrastructure development, recruitment of qualified trainers, extension of course durations, and expansion of batch sizes, all aligned with our long-term sustainability goals.
Moreover, we believe that awareness-building activities are equally important alongside skills development. Therefore, initiatives on safeguarding, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), child protection, awareness of the harmful effects of online gambling and drugs, and combating digital rumors and misinformation are essential. JPTTC is committed and actively engaged in these responsibilities.
We firmly believe that skills development is the key to sustainable economic growth. In the new year, we pledge to work with renewed energy to expand vocational education, skills training, employment opportunities, and women’s participation, so that the potential of Cox’s Bazar can flourish even further.

পর্যটন, রোহিঙ্গা ইস্যু, সীমান্তবর্তী অবস্থানসহ নানা কারণে কক্সবাজার বাংলাদেশের অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি জেলা। পর্যটন শিল্পের পাশাপাশি কর্মক্ষেত্রেও রয়েছে বিপুল সম্ভাবনা। এ জেলার বহু মানুষ জীবিকার তাগিদে প্রবাসে অবস্থান করে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জনের মাধ্যমে দেশের অর্থনীতিকে শক্তিশালী করে আসছে।
দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে কক্সবাজারে কাজ করতে গিয়ে আমরা দেখেছি, এই জেলার তরুণ, কর্মক্ষেত্রে পিছিয়ে পড়া জনগোষ্ঠী এবং বিপুল সংখ্যক নারীরা দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের পর্যাপ্ত সুযোগ থেকে বঞ্চিত।
এই বাস্তবতা থেকেই দক্ষ জনশক্তি তৈরির প্রত্যয়ে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়,কক্সবাজারে একমাত্র নারী-নেতৃত্বাধীন প্রতিষ্ঠান, জেপি টেকনিক্যাল ট্রেনিং সেন্টার (জেপিটিটিসি)। আমাদের লক্ষ্য—মানুষের দোরগোড়ায় দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের সুযোগ পৌঁছে দিয়ে তাদের দক্ষ মানবসম্পদে রূপান্তরিত করা।
আমাদের প্রতিষ্ঠানে সরকারি অনুমোদনপ্রাপ্ত ২৮টি প্রশিক্ষণ ট্রেড চালু রয়েছে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলো—কম্পিউটার অপারেশন, বিউটিফিকেশন, টেইলারিং ও ড্রেস মেকিং, ইলেকট্রিক্যাল ইনস্টলেশন, আইটি ও ডিজিটাল স্কিল, হ্যান্ডিক্রাফটসহ আরও নানা ট্রেড। জেপিটিটিসি হাতে–কলমে প্রশিক্ষণভিত্তিক ফ্রি ও পেইড কোর্সের মাধ্যমে প্রশিক্ষণার্থীদের দক্ষ মানবসম্পদে রূপান্তরের সুযোগ প্রদান করে যাচ্ছে, যাতে তারা আত্মনির্ভরশীল, আত্মমর্যাদাশীল ও সম্মানজনক জীবন গড়ে তুলতে পারে।
আমরা ইতোমধ্যে ফ্রি ও পেইড কোর্সের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন ট্রেডে প্রায় ২,৫০০ জন প্রশিক্ষণার্থীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়েছি। এর মধ্যে নারীদের আশাব্যঞ্জক অংশগ্রহণ আমাদের সামনে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার প্রেরণা জুগিয়েছে।
এই যাত্রায় পাশে থাকার জন্য আমরা কৃতজ্ঞ—ILO–ISEC, SICIP–REHAB, BRAC, UNDP, a2i, BWCCI, CBCCI, ASSET–RPL এবং ASSET–EBT–সহ সকল উন্নয়ন সহযোগী সংস্থার প্রতি। তাদের সহযোগিতা স্থানীয় জনগোষ্ঠীকে বিভিন্ন প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সে অংশগ্রহণের মূল্যবান সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করেছে।
আমাদের এই মহৎ যাত্রাকে আরও টেকসই ও গুণগত মানোন্নয়নের পথে এগিয়ে নিতে সরকার, সহযোগী সংস্থা এবং নীতি-নির্ধারকদের প্রতি আমাদের আবেদন, সকল ক্ষেত্রে অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তি নিশ্চিত করার পাশাপাশি দক্ষতা-নির্ভর প্রজন্ম গড়ে তুলতে আমাদের মতো নারী নেতৃত্বাধীন প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে বিশেষ সহযোগিতা প্রদান করা।
একই সঙ্গে, দক্ষ মানবসম্পদ তৈরির লক্ষ্যে আমাদের এ যাত্রা যাতে আরও মসৃণ হয়, সেজন্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন, দক্ষ প্রশিক্ষক নিয়োগ, সময়োপযোগী কোর্সের মেয়াদ বৃদ্ধি এবং ব্যাচ সংখ্যা বাড়ানোর মতো উদ্যোগগুলোকে আমাদের সামগ্রিক টেকসই অভিযাত্রার প্রেক্ষিতে নতুন কর্মপরিকল্পনায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার আহ্বান জানাই।
তদুপরি, আমরা বিশ্বাস করি যে দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের পাশাপাশি সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিমূলক কার্যক্রমও সমানভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। তাই সুরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা (Safeguarding), যৌন শোষণ ও নির্যাতন প্রতিরোধ (PSEA), শিশু সুরক্ষা, অনলাইন জুয়া ও মাদকের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব, ডিজিটাল গুজব ও বিভ্রান্তিকর তথ্যের বিরুদ্ধে সচেতনতা, এসব বিষয়ে উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ অপরিহার্য। জেপিটিটিসি এ বিষয়ে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ এবং দায়িত্বশীলভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
আমরা বিশ্বাস করি,দক্ষতা উন্নয়নই টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের মূল চাবিকাঠি। নতুন বছরে আমরা আরও নবউদ্যমে কর্মমুখী শিক্ষা, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন, কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি এবং নারী অংশগ্রহণ বৃদ্ধির মাধ্যমে সম্ভাবনার কক্সবাজারকে আরও বেশি প্রস্ফুটিত করে তুলতে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ।
